Well we are now back in our wee house on hill after 10 days in a rather balmy Gold Coast, even in the rain, and all I can say is ....... BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I read today about a woman who holidays in Winter only in places that are colder than her home location so that when she returns home always feels Spring like in comparison. Reading that 2 weeks ago I would have thought 'Nutter!!!' Now though I can completely see her logic.

| Having a swim at Burleigh Heads. |
The contrast in Winter temperatures is amazing - their overnight lows are our daytime highs. Having warm Winter days was a great tonic and herself in particular loved being in skirts/dresses and sandals. You could tell the visitors to the Gold Coast by their 'Summery' attire and the Queenslanders by their jackets, scarves and long trousers ;) Despite 3 of us getting sick in the second week we still enjoyed the time together as a family and having a break from lighting fires and wrapping up constantly. It was lovely to catch up with friends and family which we haven't seen for a while too.

| Some of our regular visitors which invited themselves to lunch and stole a piece of chicken off the plate! |
Home will always be home though and as nice as a visit is we are all glad to be back in Aotearoa where I don't have to worry about kids investigating hidden spots for fear of snakes or being in the bush for fear of ticks!!!

Hope this finds you in the perfect climate for you.
